Division 1 means that volatile dust is a normal part of day-to-day operations. Such locations can include grain elevators, sugar production and carbon processing plants.

External Specifications

Class 2 div 1 exit signs are built with thick die-cast aluminum housing, hermetically-sealed to prevent combustible dust from entering the internal circuitry. The 'exit' lettering is protected by a polycarbonate faceplate and the external fasteners are stainless steel. Unit is flame retardant and corrosion-resistant.

Internal Specifications

Class 2 div 1 exit signs are lit with energy efficient LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) which only consume 5 watts of electricity and are available in red or green lettering options. An hermetically-sealed diagnostic switch is a quick way to check the readiness of the battery and LED strip.
