It is corrosion and flame resistant while providing at least 90 minutes of exit sign illumination when AC power is lost. It operates on both 120V or 277V and is UL 844, 924, and 1604 listed for use in the United States.

External Specifications

The Class 1 Division 2 Exit Sign uses an aluminum housing and polycarbonate faceplate that are hermetically sealed to keep internal components safe from flammable elements. This fixture is corrosion, flame, and vandal proof which makes it the perfect fixture for schools, prisons, and other environments where moderate abuse is anticipated. The Class 1 Division 2 Exit Sign is manufactured under strict quality control specifications to ensure reliable display of "EXIT" in red or green. The hermetically sealed magnet test switch gives the user peace of mind that the nickel-cadmium battery is fully operational.

Internal Specifications

LED light strips illuminate "EXIT" in either red or green while consuming less than 5 watts of electricity at all times. An included self-diagnostic test constantly monitors the circuit board, battery backup system, and transformer components and displays information on a side-mounted LED panel.

Options

Internal battery heater: allows the backup battery to operate in freezing temperatures as low as -4º F.

Appeal

The Class 1 Division 2 features a durable design, but still has a visually appealing aesthetic that is usually not associated with industrial exit signs. There are a wide variety of options that can be added on to this fixture to get the right feature set for the job.

Overall Value

Most Class 1 Division 2 exit signs are priced over $1,000 and require a 3 to 4 week lead time for production. Our fixture costs only $699.99 and ships in 5 to 7 business days.

Installation

The Class 1 Division 2 Exit Sign can be mounted to the wall and ceiling of most nonflammable indoor and damp location surfaces. Electrical installation is quick and easy: use the black (120V) and white (common) wires for 120V AC power or the red (277V) and white (common) wires for 277V AC power.
