Class 1 division 2 exit signs are installed at locations where combustible gas and vapors are present in the air at such concentrations that they pose an explosion risk. Division 2 denotes the condition of the specific room or space, where gases are not typically present but could be introduced as an abnormal part of daily operation, like an accidental spillage. Such locations can include gasoline storage, fuel servicing areas and medical facilities.

External Specifications

Class 1 div 2 exit signs are built with thick die-cast aluminum housings that are gasket-sealed to prevent flammable gases from entering the internal circuitry. The 'exit' lettering is protected by a clear shatter-proof polycarbonate lense and all fastening hardware is stainless steel. Unit is flame retardant and corrosion-resistant and can be employed as an all-weather exit sign.

Internal Specifications

This exit sign is lit by tiny, energy efficient LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) that come in red or green options and use only 5 watts of electricity. These models include an automated self-diagnostic that greatly reduces the need for physical periodic maintenance. An LED display gives a visual status report of the circuits, battery and overall readiness.
