Affordable Emergency Lights

The Best Emergency Light for your Bottom Line

Emergency lights are necessary to meet code compliance and provide an illuminated path for safe evacuation. They may be mandatory to have installed in your facility, but not mandatory to break the bank. We offer a wide selection of affordable emergency lights that will satisfy building codes while providing reliable emergency illumination.

Installing emergency lights may not seem like a priority when establishing a new business, but they are a necessary step to opening up shop. Building inspectors enforce codes requiring adequate emergency lighting so clear paths of egress are highlighted in case of evacuation.

We offer several emergency lights that are priced under $20 per unit and still come with durable thermoplastic housing, backup battery, and two adjustable lamp heads.

Limitations Of Affordable Emergency Lights

  • Thermoplastic housing is durable, but not as rugged as steel housing
  • Higher wattage bulbs cannot be installed
  • Remote lamp heads cannot be attached
  • Many options that are available for steel emergency lights are not available
  • Cannot be used in wet, damp, or hazardous locations
  • For indoor use only

Although there are many limitations, our affordable emergency lights are a cost effective way to satisfy code requirements. In many cases, however, these emergency lights are perfectly adequate for environments that do not require fully sealed housing or additional remote heads, for example.

The expected lifespan of our affordable emergency lights may not match that of other fixtures, but you can still expect them to provide reliable emergency illumination for 8 to 10 years. Often times the battery will need to be replaced in less than five years. A tip to ensure the longest battery life possible is to fully discharged then recharged during annual inspection.

Affordable Emergency Lights - What You're Getting

Although these emergency lights do not have the long list of features that some fixtures provide, they still must meet universal emergency light standards. Just like all other emergency light fixtures, they connect to AC electricity to power and charge the fixture. They are required to provide at least 90 minutes of emergency illumination when AC power is lost.

These emergency lights use the same internal components as more expensive fixtures: the nickel-cadmium battery powers the fixture, while a transformer and circuit board ensure reliable charging. They also have a push button testing system that momentarily interrupts power, simulating a power loss, to ensure the battery is functional.
